About Indexle
A new country every day. Five guesses to name it.
The radar is your only clue. Six development indicators, each plotted as a percentile rank against every other country in the game. A vertex near the edge means that country is near the top globally on that measure. Figure out what the shape is describing and you will find the country.
How to play
- Type a country name and submit your guess.
- Your polygon overlays the target's so you can compare shapes.
- Each guess flips six category tiles: region, government type, majority religion, climate, geography, and administrative language.
- A matching tile means that category is the same as the target.
- Five guesses total.
The dark shape is today's country.
Each guess overlays its own polygon on top.
Each pip's shade shows that axis's percentile. Pale is low, dark is high.
- low
- mid
- high
The radar
Six axes, all from World Bank development data. Each is a percentile rank within the game's country pool, so a vertex near the edge means near the top on that measure, not necessarily a high raw number.
- Wealth: GDP per capita, PPP
- Aging: share of population 65 and over
- Military: defense spending as a share of GDP
- Crowding: population density (people per km²)
- Connectivity: share of population with internet access
- Family: total fertility rate (births per woman)
